is one of the most ambitious, most grandiose and most bizarre
projects on Bali.

Poised 825 feet above the Indian Ocean. Legend says the temple was
originally
built in the 11th century.
3. Kedonganan Bay
One of the great delights in this
world is going to Kedonganan Bay
for the sunset and fresh sea food dinner, sitting at tables in the sand

1. Ulundanu Temple

It is well known by tourists as dolphin spotting trips

Drive the scenic road of Pupuan village through the mountains

picturesque rice terraces, and large plantations

1. Bat Cave Temple This is one of the state temples – packed,
crammed, and jammed full of bats.
The bats
provide sustenance for the legendary giant snake, Naga Basuki,
which is said to
live in the cave.
2. Water Garden Palace
Was built in
1948 by the last Raja (king) of Karang Asem, Anak Agung Ngurah Ketut.
Karang Asem is a series
of formal pools fed by sacred spring and surrounded by
the most beautiful rice
terraces on Bali.
3. Candi Dasa Beach Was still a quiet little fishing village until 1970s. A short stop here for lunch.
4. Tenganan Traditional Bali Aga literally means descendant
of the original Balinese who inhabited Bali
Village (Bali Aga) prior to the Majapahit arrival. The three
hundred or so inhabitants of the village
believe that their “Hukum Adat,”
customary law, was granted
by God Indra
in a special covenant. They are reputed to be exceptionally conservative
and still
live in their uniquely traditional ways.

1. Batukaru Temple Located
on the slope of Mount Batukaru, this is one of the six axial temples
sacred to
all Hindu Balinese. Some Balinese
chronicles say Mount Batukaru
was first inhabited by the children of the God
Pasupati in AD 191.
2. Espa Natural
In the 1940s,
the Japanese built pools and channels, and the present resort
Hot Spring is the third
attempt to make this a
recreational spa.
3. Jati Luwih
Located on Wongayagede,
which means truly marvelous,
it has a wonderful view of rice terraces.

1. Renon Monument The
monument is dedicated to the Balinese people's struggle.
This unique shaped
monument was inaugurated
and officially opened
for the public on June 14, 2003. Thirty-three dioramas
depicting
the history
of the Balinese people from the ancient period
until Indonesian Independence.
2.
Pemecutan
An
opportunity to look inside the present Royal Family Compound,
Royal Palace which was one of Badung's key palaces since
the 18th century.
3.
Puputan Square
A monument commemorating the
mass ritual suicide of Badung's Royalty
and Bali Museum in the face of Dutch
cannon fire
on September 20, 1906.
The museum: conceived as early as 1910 as a museum of Balinese architecture,
it
combines the main
architectural elements of both a temple and a palace,
but do not expect to find
treasures of the Royal
Balinese here.
